Luz Cotto-Charneski, LCSW has a comprehensive experience as a psychotherapist in both private practice and inpatient/outpatient mental health facilities.  Luz is Bilingual/Bicultural (Spanish/English) and has experience in working with adults, couples, and families with a wide variety of difficulties.  Her specializations include working with adults who struggle with depression and anxiety; challenges within unhealthy relationships and breaking unhealthy patterns of relating; trauma; abuse/domestic violence; low self-esteem; destructive behaviors/addictions; and grief/loss issues.

Throughout her work, Luz has developed the ability to draw upon multiple modalities to which include psychoanalytic, insight oriented, cognitive behavioral, interpersonal, mindfulness practices, and systems perspective.  She is known for her commitment to connect, encourage, and value your strengths; as well as provide support in improving your relationships so that you may be able enjoy life to your fullest potential.

Luz is a Smith College School for Social Work alumnus and is affiliated with The Mitchell Center for Relational Studies in New York City, which provides her with her on-going development and greater understanding of the power of relationships within the therapeutic encounter.
